We can learn a lot about ourselves as Men by taking the time to observe other living things in nature.

And one of the deepest discoveries we can make is understanding just how much effort Mother Nature has put into programing much of our self-esteem as Men to be dependent on Women.

(And of course the opposite is equally true)

Young or Old.

Experienced or Not.

There are always different levels of dependencies through all phases of life.

If we take a look at the animal kingdom for example we can see why.

Because in the animal world it’s the male that try’s to attract or approach a female for mating.  And it’s the female that either accepts or rejects his overtures.

Now what that means for us Men is pretty simple and profound…

Because on a genetic level a HUGE part of our self-esteem is naturally dependent on women.

It’s been hard wired that way from the time we were conceived.

And although this trait is what keeps humanity alive and well…

It can also be used to exploit us from more malicious members of the opposite sex.

Now because of this I know there are a number of Men’s Rights groups out there that advocate the complete rejection of this desire.  They often say that Men should somehow eliminate this desire and stop “needing” women.

And let me take a moment to surprise you readers to say that I support their advocacy of this up to a point..

I certainly agree with them when poison is the only thing that’s being offered and it’s a matter of survival to completely reject it.

But let’s even go beyond this for a second and not think in terms of self-preservation.

Let’s look at a Man’s personal growth.

I know first hand that there are extremely positive aspects on truly not needing women especially if you are on a mission of self-discovery and self-development as a Man.

And I can personally give you very strong testimony on this and say that when Men do this with honest intent to themselves and with persistence..

Then over time they will truly find themselves in a very strong, satisfying and fulfilling space.

(And a common side effect of this is that they are immediately more attractive to women)

Now self discovery is all fine and good but on the opposite end of the emotional scale there also exist a different agenda for “not needing women”.

For example..

I find that all of us.. both men and women.. will at some time in their lives try to protect their egos from the threat of rejection by playing a game of what I call “Rejection Hot Potato“.

Let’s toss you out like a hot potato before you can toss me.

Because if I’m the one who tosses you first then I can be the one to tell everyone and myself that I was the one who rejected you!!

Now to be fair I’d like to say that on the surface there is NOTHING wrong with this.

It’s because EVERYONE has done this at some point.  It’s a necessary part of the emotional survival process because trying to function on a day to day basis with a crushed spirit is not an easy thing to do and can actually threaten your ability to survive.

We can just hope that playing “emotional hot potato” evolves into a valuable growing experience that can serve us well in understanding both ourselves and others and help us to develop compassion for all.

Now in light of recent events it’s become clear to me that there is a certain percentage of members within the Men’s Rights groups who are going through this stage.

And again I’d like to repeat that there is nothing wrong or shameful about this.

However where this gets to be a problem is if they are locked into this mode and it prevents them from finding the next happier transformation in their lives which depends on developing a truly loving and supportive relationship.

Now if this is the case then obviously this is not the most positive outcome.

So when we take inventory and look back at the above motivations for “not needing women” we still find that both of them leave us hanging out with Mr. Solitude.

It may be negative solitude or a positive one..

But as we all know a Man was never meant to live on bread alone.

And when that hunger for more diverse emotional and physical nourishment takes over it’s time to really take stock of things and to be very honest with ourselves.

So let’s get back to Mother Nature’s finely tuned engineering plans for our emotional health as Men.

Because it seems so funny sometimes that I feel the need to go through so detailed an explanation just to justify myself and say something so simple as..

“Men need Women and it is GOOD”…

But alas this is the result of the sad and distorted times in which we live in where playing “emotional hot potato” seems to be the protective body armor that so many of us are forced to wear because of the ongoing war that exists between Western Men and Women.

So here’s the deal…

Playing “Emotional Hot Potato” and living in solitude was NEVER meant to be the default setting in the mechanism of life..

It is not the natural state of affairs.

And it is certainly NOT Good.

This is going to be true no matter how many of us go through our daily lives trying to look cool and seemingly disconnected from the opposite sex.

And what’s truly sad is my eyes is when you see Men going into denial about their real needs and actually believing it.

(Too often it’s mainly because Men weakly succumb to some childish name calling on the part of the feminist who want them to feel foolish for seeking their own genetic destiny for love and family)

Well now these Men are really screwed because they have just made it that much more harder for them to get what their body and soul truly requires by going into denial about it in the first place.

And they were easily manipulated by the Feminist into this position.

There is really only one true solution in all of this.

And it’s the obvious one.

Because when you guys have actually done what it takes to have a Real Woman by your side then the world just completely changes.

You have an unbelievable sense of freedom and stature that allows you to walk into a room that maybe filled to the brim with the most malicious of feminists.

But you find yourself blessed because you just simply don’t care about them anymore.

You have absolutely no more emotional dependencies on them or any other women outside of your home environment.

When they carry on with their usual slander and bile you can choose to speak your mind and embarass the living hell out of them or you can just choose to smile and be on your merry way.

In either case..

You’ve got NOTHING to prove.

This my friends is True Liberation because for most of your life there were walls around you whose builders had much invested in making sure that you were contained.

But now..

The walls are still there but you simply have the ability to just walk right through them at will.

And this upsets the builders to no end.

But none of this will happen unless you are real with yourself and completely understand that.

“Men need Women and it is GOOD”.

Being true to this is the real path of courage and not the opposite way around.

And with a little bit of this courage and an open heart there will come a day when you will have what you need Gentlemen.

And when this happens..

Just remember I told you so.

They say that good photographers always keep a camera close to them at all times.

Well I guess today was one of my “good” days.

I was invited to a wedding this afternoon.

And even though I correctly assumed that there would be a professional photographer and video guy covering this event..

My instincts still told me that I needed to pull out the ol’ Digital SLR and bring it along.

Well I’m sure glad I listened to Mr. Intuition today.

Because along comes a truly exotic young lady named Zarina who had traveled all the way from a remote and isolated little city in Central Kazakhstan to attend this wedding.

And of course as fate would have it.. she was exceedingly pleasant to socialize with even if she was a little on the shy side of the equation.

It turned out that this sublimely beautiful girl is also exceptionally talented and disciplined since she already speaks fluent English..

Oh and get this..

Because Zarina is about a third Asian with her nationality..

She has selected Mandarin Chinese to be ONE of her university majors and has set a goal to be completely fluent in it within 4 years which totally blew my mind.

Oh yeah.. her other major is going to be in Economics.

Can somebody say.. “These women are from a different planet?”

Oh and one more thing..

She’s only 19…….

Gee maybe there’s IS something in the drinking water here.

Soooooooo..

After some more small talk Zarina wanted to know what I did so I told her about my little hobby involving photography and this blog.

As you can probably guess she was genuinely interested because from her perspective I’m sure that bumping into some American guy living out here who does this in his spare time is more then a little unusual.

Naturally I politely asked to take some photos of her..

And after a few seconds of thinking…

She let a shy but lovely little smile slip out..

And softly said yes..

The popular MRA blogger Pete’s Patriarch seems to have taken deep offense with my advice that Men should pay for the bill when they are dating Traditional Russian Women.

It was slightly funny because he actually goes so far as to question my “true gender” and wonders if I’m a “Mangina” or not.

He has some pretty crude but amusing things to say about your truly which you can read here.

In general he wants to imply that any Man like myself who take the initiative to pay for the bill on a date is actually weak and “sucking up” to women.  And on the more outrageous side of things he goes so far as to suggest that this is merely a cheap attempt to “pay for sexual favors”.

Well I think it’s best if we stop the rotation of this sad attempt at spin and set the matter straight.

I’m just going to re-post the comment I made on his post here so all of you can understand what is happening and you make your own call.

I’ve been called lots of things in my life but to accuse me of being a “Mangina” is hilarious especially given the pro-men advocacy that both you and I take so seriously..

In anycase Pete I’d like to say that I believe you are making a very significant mistake by applying your western norms of “equality” to every girl in the world. Especially to the Traditional Girls in Russia or the FSU.

You took pains to take some quotes from some of the more materialistic women that exist in Moscow which is where my source article came from.

Your first mistake is a very common one in thinking that Moscow represents Russia culturally..

Most Russian folks will tell you that “Moscow is not real Russia”. They say this because it’s a huge cosmopolitan city with the largest cost of living in the world.

So any quote taken from some well off “wealthy” Russian Woman there is going to distort the truth behind what I feel the majority of TRADITIONAL Russian and FSU Girls are like..

I’ve been living in Siberia for over the last 4 years Pete so I know what I’m talking about… So I kindly suggest that you listen..

And again I’ve seen lots of American and Western Men make this same extremely common error just like you have.

You are probably taking every experience and information that you have about Feminized WESTERN Women and are trying to apply the same “defensive standards” to Traditional Russian or FSU Women..

This is no different from playing with square blocks all of your life and then trying to fit it into a small round hole that you’ve never seen before.

The TRADITIONAL Women that I’m inspired to blog about absolutely DESERVE traditional respect and chivalry from all Men.. ESPECIALLY Men who desire to date them..

You are dealing with a completely different world here that you can’t possibly fathom until you spend some significant time dealing with these wonderful ladies.

Far from these women being greedy or wealthy as you try to elude too with the Moscow article..

The average salary in Russia is still only between $150 to $300 PER MONTH…

That means that there are a whole lot of very sweet, kind and economically poor ladies out there who would project huge amounts of appreciation for a decent date at even the simplest of cafe’s.

(And BTW I take offense and so would many real ladies at how you suggest, even in pun, that sexual favors might be returned for this basic act of kindness during a date. Unfortunately it shows me and your readers that you have a long ways to go before you grow up and are able to act like a Gentleman.)

As far as typical first dates with Russian Ladies are concerned.. we are certainly not talking Lobster Thermidore here Pete..

We are usually only talking about a cup of tea, a tiny salad and maybe a single scoop of ice cream for an initial get to know you meeting..

If you try to suggest or push any more food on to her because you are surprised at how little she eats.. then she will most likely politely turn down your offer due to her basic sense of modesty that is deeply in-grained into her traditional Russian culture.

Let’s see.. that bill came out to a whopping total of less then 10 bucks..

So you want to show off your cheapness and go “Equal” with that?

Well Pete go right ahead and show the world what you are made of.. or not..

GL - Russian Women the Real Truth

I have little time nowadays to check in on what the other MRA bloggers are saying.

But I hope the rest of them don’t act like Pete here.

I’d like to believe that in one way or another we are actually on the same team.  But if this is the type of “tone” and “advocacy” that is being promoted in the blogosphere from other MRA writers.  Then I’d like to kindly suggest that they read an old letter that I wrote way back when to the Men’s Movement.

Until then.. I’ll just keep continuing to blaze my own path for myself and hopefully a few others..

Because in the final analysis there’s a huge difference between making the right choices to develop a loving relationship.

And being paranoid of it.

A wise friend of mine once told me that any belief system (no matter how noble it’s original intent may be) can be taken to an extreme and lead to some very bad and destructive things.

I know well enough to understand that history is just filled with many cases of this..

Well I hope guys like Pete get a clue because we certainly don’t need to see another one.

Approximately 10,800 Russian women who live in the Turkish Mediterranean city of Antalya are married to Turkish men, and most of these brides are university graduates, professionals and entrepreneurs. Their children make up a new generation of 4,000 Russian-Turkish ‘melez,’ or mixed, kids — many of whom will enter primary school this year

Upon arrival in Antalya it is difficult not to notice the number of Russians. Aside from the two-and-a-half million Russian tourists who usually keep to themselves in holiday resorts, about 15,000 Russians, 80 percent of whom are women, are living, working and mingling with locals here. Their blonde, thin, tall children are easy to spot in traffic, parks, bike paths and markets. Representatives of this new generation in Antalya, almost all the kids in this large and diverse group speak both Russian and Turkish.

According to official data, 13,000 Russians live in Antalya, but the actual number is likely closer to 15,000. There are 310 active Russian companies in the city, and Russians are either managers or partners in 225 firms. The number of Russians who own real estate in the area is close to 800.

Russian women who settle in Antalya tend to be young university graduates and entrepreneurs. Contrary to many views in Turkey, these women are not hopeless unqualified immigrants who had no choice but to move to Turkey.The women are attracted to the climate, natural sites and easy travel from Russia. According to Mircalol Husanov, the consul general for Russia in Antalya, Russians are qualified, educated people who contribute to the city’s social and cultural life.

No Russian neighborhoods

Russians who settle in Turkey are different from British and German residents. They do not live together in sites or blocs, and there is no Russian neighborhood in Antalya. Russians mingle with locals and try to speak Turkish with almost everyone. They are eager to learn Turkish to run their businesses effectively.

Intermarriage plays a big role. Russians in Antalya are mostly women married to Turkish men. According to the Foreigners Culture and Solidarity Association, or FCSA, in Antalya, there are doctors, engineers or economists among them; however most Russian residents work in the service and tourism sectors.

First generation of mixed kids heads to school

Families want their children to have an education that is valid in both countries. The FCSA offers language courses for Turkish-Russian children and there is a private school founded by Russian Victor Bikkenev. Diplomas from Bikkenev’s school are not, however, valid in Russia, according to Husanov. Right now, there is a preparatory class in the Levent Aydın Anatolian High School’s elementary school department and a preschool class in the Governor Hüsnü Tuğlu Elementary School. In the next school year, Russian teachers will teach 40 children in the first, second and third grade classes.

The consulate plans to open an elementary school in Antalya in the future and to bring in teachers from Moscow.

Priests arrive from Russia for christening

Russians living in Antalya do not have a church. Husanov said, “We know that this is a sensitive issue. We want to buy a lot in Antalya and build a decent church. I hope locals will not be disturbed by that.” For now, Easter and similar holidays are observed in homes. For children’s christenings, a priest arrives twice a year from the Russian church in Istanbul and the ceremony takes place in homes.

Russian women were looked down on in Antalya in the past

Irina Okay is an economist from St. Petersburg. She met Necat Okay in Antalya, fell in love and got married in 2001. She was happy to settle in Antalya and was one of the first Russian women to marry a Turk and settle in the city. Learning Turkish from newspapers and television, Irina founded the FCSA in 2006.

“If my husband hadn’t helped me, our marriage would’ve ended. We Russians who arrived a decade ago were unfortunate in many respects. People looked down on us. We had to explain that we are different, well-educated and sophisticated women. In time, Turkish families have changed their opinions and now they like us.”

Irina’s husband, Necat, is a tourism agent. He describes himself as a typical Turkish man. “I am pro-Western,” he said, “but no matter what I do, I am a Turk. I cannot change my certain way of thinking.” Necat said because Russians are free sprits they are having a hard time overcoming a difficult period. “Some of our traditions do not speak to them.”

The Russian women, however, are different from Westerners. Due to the dire circumstances Russian-speaking countries have experienced in recent years, said Necat, if a Russian woman is happy in her marriage she tries hard to save it.

Arina Yılmaz, 36, from Siberia, holds a university degree in quality control and has lived in Antalya for seven years. Her husband Ethem is an exporter. The couple met in Russia. Arina came to Turkey three months after Mr. Yılmaz returned to Turkey. They have son a four-and-a-half-year-old son, Timur. “I can say that I am happy; we tolerate each other’s choices.”

Elena Durmuş, 35, studied economics at Moscow State University. Her husband is a contractor. Their son, Armağan, is seven-and-a-half years old. Their biggest worry is his education. “There should be multi-language schools in Antalya. Why is only English being taught here?”

Natalia Çelik was a hairdresser in Moscow. She arrived in Antalya 11 years ago as a tourist and met her husband Hasan. They have been married for three-and-a-half years and have two kids, Timur Paşa, 8, and Asya, 2. Natalia misses Moscow a lot and visits once a year.

Janna converted to Islam

Dr. Janna Doğancı from Moscow married Ata who runs the Savoy Hotel in Konyaaltı. Janna works at the hotel’s beauty center. They met in 1996 while Janna was on vacation in Antalya. Janna will soon become a Turkish citizen. She converted to Islam after reading the Koran in Russian. “After we met we waited awhile to get married. In the meantime we have tried to figure out how to overcome the difficulties we face as a couple.”

‘Shall we visit babuşka?’

Nadia and Adil Kürşat Ayhan run the Lidana Hotel in Konyaaltı. Their son Deniz is 3 years old. They have been married for six years. Nadia is from the city of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. They visit her mother in Siberia after the tourism season ends; Nadia’s parents visit Antalya during the summer. Nadia asks her son, “Shall we visit ‘babuşka’? He replies, “Da!”

She said, “I haven’t become a Turk yet.” Her husband jumped in, “If she had, we wouldn’t be happy.” To the question “Are you in love?” Nadia replies in laughter, “Like a dog!” Nadia knocks on wood, a common thing to do in both the Russian and Turkish traditions to avoid spoiling a good situation. “When I came here I didn’t even consider marrying a Turkish man. But we were so in love and it was impossible to let that go.”

Now I know that this resort town and that Turkey in general are very popular tourist destinations for Russians.

It seems that Turkey has done a very smart thing and not hampered the movements of these ladies with any restrictive visa regimes and that has allowed this positive development to happen.

Wouldn’t it be great if other western countries like the US, Canada, UK or Australia had the same attitude?

One can only wish.

But in the meantime places like Antalya might be another pretty good vacation spot to hangout in during this time of year.

Why Russia’s wealthier women are still reluctant to go Dutch

Billboards across Moscow advertising a women’s magazine are raising female consciousness by asking Russia’s fairer sex: “Are you ready to pay half to be independent?”

It’s a question with increasing relevance because growing numbers of young Russian women are moving into management positions, earning good salaries and boosting their spending power. But for most, the answer to the question for now is still a resounding “no”.

“When you go out with a guy, even if you’re just friends and there’s no romantic subtext, you would always expect him to pay,” says Svetlana Kolchik, deputy editor of Russia’s Marie Claire, which paid for the adverts. “When I discuss dates with my girlfriends, one of the first questions is ‘Did he pay for you?’ If he did, it’s always a good sign.”

Many Russians say the country’s dating culture is more traditional and romantic than in the West, and a large part of that involves the idea that the man should pay for everything and shower his date with gifts.

The extravagant jewellery, furs and cars that oligarchs dole out to their women are the stuff of legend but the philosophy – if not the scale – is the same among ordinary Russians.

“I find Russian women to be a bit like Tamagotchi,” says one British expatriate who moved to Moscow a year ago and has enjoyed playing Casanova in the city. “You have to keep feeding them with meals out, little gifts, and so on, to keep them happy.”

At the end of any romantic dinner in Moscow, the waiter will automatically hand the bill to the man, and even if the woman wants to pay, it can be a problem. Olga, a 24-year-old journalist, explains that many of her friends keep their wallets in their handbags not out of stinginess but for the sake of their boyfriends’ pride. “With all the provincial beauties in town, there are 20 women for each decent man. If you get a decent man, you better keep him. So they don’t reach for their wallets so the man doesn’t feel uncomfortable when other people look at him like he can’t pay for dinner.”

Olga earns a good wage, and says she sometimes gets round that by giving her boyfriend money before the meal so that his sense of pride won’t be dented when it comes to paying.

Other young professional women report that some of their friends are beginning to change and don’t like the idea of never contributing financially. But many Russian women would not even consider dating a man who earned less money than them. “I would not feel safe,” says Oxana, a 28-year-old marketing manager, reflecting on the prospect of having a pauper for a boyfriend.

All of that raises the question of what exactly it is that wealthy Russian women do spend their money on.

“We have a very consumerist attitude so will still spend money on a Max Mara coat or Armani suit,” says Ms Kolchik. “Women spend most of their money on looking beautiful for their man; and in fact, for all men. Even if we’re happily married, it’s in our genes to compete for men and male attention.”

Now I don’t think this article fairly represents Russian Women the way I know them.

First off when it comes to dating Russian or FSU Women the KEY THING that any Man needs to realize is that you are being offered a UNIQUE opportunity to show your leadership in a budding relationship by TAKING RESPONSIBILITY for the date.

TAKING RESPONSIBILITY in any dating situation at the very MINIMUM means PAYING FOR THE BILL.

If you neglect to do this then you have FAILED a major test in the eyes of a Russian Lady..  And honestly you will probably not get another opportunity to correct yourself.

A Russian Woman will think of it in these terms..

“If he can’t TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for a simple cafe bill how can he possibly TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for me or our future children?”

Any Man who dates a Russian or FSU Lady should always consider paying the bill as a code of honor. And this is especially true even if your date “courteously offers” to contribute.

Keep this in mind even if you are out socializing with a lady friend with whom you don’t intend to have a romantic relationship with.

It’s still important to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY in this situation because all Women Talk..

And having a Russian Lady who is a good friend is the greatest way to gain a future endorsement from one Russian “sister” to another.

Think of it in these terms..

When a Russian Lady “allows” you to pay the bill..

She’s opening the door for you to take the next step and to come in on a deeper level.

So PLEASE DON’T think like some un-enlightened liberal or feminist indoctrinated weenie and blow it by having this door slam shut.

Unfortunately this article’s author comes off as one of the above simply because the article seems to imply that “going dutch” is the “fair and equal” thing to do given that many Russian Women (in Moscow) are starting to earn good salaries.

So now that we understand WHY this attitude is complete Hogwash let’s move on to the next subject..

The second problem I have with this article is that it makes all Russian Women sound like they are overtly materialistic by nature and constantly expect “extravagant” gifts from their suitors by default.

Again this is simply not the case for the vast majority of traditional Russian Girls I’ve known.

Small, timely, and THOUGHTFUL gifts are the best.

And they certainly DON’T need to be expensive..

But they should be MEANINGFUL.

So keep the above recommendations in mind..

Because it’s the least you can do for a Traditional Russian Woman that you are dating.

This is because you will find that over time (and if you are worthy) she’s going to give you everything that she’s got.

And the final line from this article is something that I couldn’t agree more with because it clearly emphasizes this point.

“(Russian) Women spend most of their money on looking beautiful for their man; and in fact, for all men. Even if we’re happily married, it’s in our genes to compete for men and male attention.”

A stunning supermodel leaped from her swank downtown apartment to her death today in an apparent suicide, officials said.

Ruslana Korshunova, 20, whose face has graced the cover of French Elle and Russian Vogue, apparently jumped from her ninth-floor apartment in her Water Street building in the Financial District just before 2:30 p.m.

“I heard what sounded like a gunshot or a bomb or an explosion,” said a stunned Con Ed worker talking to a cop nearby before the beauty leaped.

“I looked down the street, and I say to the cop, ‘Did that person just get hit by a car?’ ” said the worker, who identified himself only as Patrick, 32, of Brooklyn.

The two men raced over. “Her arms were crushed,” Patrick said. “Her head was on the left side and blood was coming out in a pool.”

Cops said there were no signs of a struggle in the apartment.

The window from which she fell had a balcony, which had construction netting around it that appeared to have been cut.

The 5-foot-8 head-turner has been featured in ads for DKNY, Vera Wang and Christian Dior among others and was hailed as “the next big thing” in a profile in Vogue three years ago.

“She’s one of the sweetest, nicest people you’ll ever meet,” said a friend, who did not want to be identified by name.

“I’m still in shock. The world lost a great person.”

The lithe looker has been a mainstay at Fashion Week in the Big Apple and London, working with all-star designers Jill Stuart, Betsey Johnson, Rosa Cha, Lela Rose and Libertine.

The pal said that Korshunova had just returned from a modeling gig in Paris and seemed to be “on top of the world.”

“There were no signs,” he said. “That’s what’s driving me crazy. I don’t see one reason why she would do that.”

Korshunova, who had been sending money back to her parents in Kazakhstan, was in love with the city.

“She really liked New York,” said the friend. “People made her feel comfortable here.”

Korshunova’s doorman, who did not want to be identified, remembered the catwalker as “very soft-spoken.”

“She always said hi and bye,” he said. “She was beautiful, beautiful.”

Now personally I find myself to be very suspicious of Ruslana’s death being labeled a suicide.

Obviously I know nothing about her personal circumstances..

But I can tell you that I’ve gotten to know more then a few Beautiful Girls like her from Kazakhstan and I’ve found all of them to be exceptionally balanced, healthy and happy..

And vices like drugs or alcohol are not normally a part of their modest identities.

I have also found these ladies to be very soft spoken, considerate and polite to a fault.

But most importantly I have consistently seen these “good girls” as having a very positive outlook on life..  And as you would expect this is the complete opposite of someone who would commit suicide.

Of course there’s also the little fact that Ruslana had an incredible career and future to look forward to as well.

My gut tells me that something very much doesn’t add up here.

In any case I hope that someone can get to the bottom of this tragedy..

And help put this beautiful young lady’s spirit to rest.

If you read my earlier story about meeting Inessa and her lovely family..

You might recall that I was pretty stunned by the level of warmth and hospitality that I received from them when I came to Siberia.

In short I was incredibly moved..

I had a feeling that something special like this was going to happen so I decided to come prepared.

Earlier before my arrival I took it upon myself to take a collection of photos I had of Inessa and had combined them into a collage for her and her mother.

I created a nice 8 x 10 glossy.. framed it nicely.. and then embellished it with some decent wrapping paper.

After dinner the right moment presented itself and I pulled a blanketed glass picture frame out of a bag.

There is really no way I could have justifiably captured that singular moment when Inessa and her lovely mother unwrapped it..

But I can show you what they received…

And I think you can probably figure out if at this moment there was more then just a simple smile on both of their beautiful porcelain like faces.

I believe that the biggest mistake that any Man can make in regards to a relationship with a Russian or FSU Woman is to naively look at it as a simple “transaction”.

Actually let me correct myself on that..

The dumbest thing that any Man can do in regards to Russian Women is to see them as a willing commodity to be picked up on a whim.

Now I KNOW that none of our readers would think of these Women in this regard..

BUT it’s still worth mentioning so that we all understand that going down to our local supermarket to pick out one of these Special Ladies is NOT an option.

So you may be wondering what a REAL Relationship with a Russian Woman is all about.

Well one of the WISEST things I’ve ever heard about Traditional Russian Women is this..

Traditional Women like these who are truly in touch with their identities…

ABSOLUTELY WANT to have a Life that is solidly built like a HOME.

And the perfect HOME for them has FIVE very important rooms to it.

The 1st Room is her desire for an EDUCATION

With this education comes the foundations for pride, self-confidence and her ability to embrace the world.  And personally I LOVE a Woman who is both sexy and has some serious book smarts to her.  Tolstoy anyone?

The 2nd Room is her desire to become a loving WIFE

And yes let me spell that again for anyone who may be a little confused about reality or so liberally inclined.

That’s W.. I.. F.. E..

Because after all a Princess must always find her Prince.  And this my friends will never go out of style no matter what a Culturally Marxist society does to try to tear it down.

(Actually let me clarify this with a little more precision.. It will never go out of style no matter how many scorned, over-ripend, unattractive, bitter, weight-challenged, jealous, single and alienated women scream out within the depths of their own self-denial about a “Fish not needing a Bicycle”.)

The 3rd Room is her desire to become a MOTHER

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again..  Perhaps the biggest aspect of Woman-hood is MOTHER-HOOD.  MOTHER Nature had every good reason in the universe to make women into the elegant baby making machines that they are.  And this incredible mechanism sits within the very genetic structure of every cell within a Woman’s body.

(And any Woman who actively denies this part of her identity is probably fulfilling some Darwinian mandate of “survival of the fittest.”  Because obviously..  she sure AIN’T IT in the mental capacity department and it’s probably best that a woman like this has no desire to pass her genes forward)

The 4th Room is her desire for a CAREER

This is where it starts to get tricky.   Because although the pull of mother-hood is strong.. There is another desire that all Women have for self-sufficiency, economic participation and professional / intellectual growth.

I for one fully support any Woman’s drive towards this as long as it doesn’t jeapordize her family’s welfare.

No one said this was an easy balance to strike.. But for some magical reason Russian or FSU Woman knows how to pull this off and that simply makes her all the more valuable.

(And Gentlemen once you see a Russian Lady’s priories towards her family in action you will have ZERO tolerance for the typical excuses that a Western Woman throws at you regarding this issue.  Also keep in mind that for many Western Women this “4th Room” is where the construction project ends due to their short-sighted reach for “Visible Power” and meaningless Material Gain.  There will be no comforting Nursery.. And perhaps not even a shared and warm bedroom for her to sleep in as well.)

The 5th Room is her desire for SELF-FULFILLMENT

This could be any Womanly self-pursuit that is anchored in her Mind, Body and Soul.  Every human being has a right and destiny to reach for the “Better Angels of their Nature”.  The choice is certainly everyone’s to make and it is perhaps one of the most personal decisions possible in relation to choosing your identity.

Wisdom always comes with experience..

And to someday happily stand next to a Lady who is both beautiful and wise as a guardian angel is I believe the dream of every True Man.

Imagine for example that your future Russian lady is already an accomplished pianist or singer and wishes to bless the world with her musical talent.  I don’t know about you but if this situation applied to me I’d be the first one lining up for tickets and smiling all the way..

Ok so you may be asking yourself..

This is all nice and good to know but what in the heck does this have to do with a Relationship with a Russian or FSU Woman?

Well Gentlemen..  The REAL Truth is that it has EVERYTHING to do with it..

Not a little bit..

Not even a lot..

But EVERYTHING.

And the Bottom Line is this..

The BIGGEST thing you can do to secure the ABSOLUTE LOVE and DEVOTION of your special Russian Woman is to become a LEAD Construction Partner in helping her to build all FIVE of these rooms.

Now obviously the construction and occupation of these rooms will happen at different times in her life.

Sometimes she will spend a great deal of time in one room while other times it may be more spread out as in Wife, Mother and Career.

But whatever the case is it is your JOB as a Man to mutually lay the foundations down for each of them.

Because each Room will contain a level of appreciation, affection and devotion towards you as a HUSBAND that will go beyond measure.

And this Gentlemen is the sense of Purpose, Satisfaction and Happiness that YOU’VE ALL been looking for.

By always planning ahead on this big picture for her you are practically guaranteeing that the two of you will stay on a happy forward moving path together.

A Traditional Russian or FSU Lady would never dream of leaving you if this construction project was the master plan that you initiated and designed with her.

Indeed she will be EXTREMELY PROTECTIVE of both it and you..

Because this is HER HOME Dammit..

AND You as the MAN are expected to be the Leader of it..

And it certainly wouldn’t surprise me one bit if she just as readily starting locking and loading a Kalashnikov to keep “Foreign Invaders” away from it.. and from you..

(Which by the way has truly happened more then a few times in Russian history just in case you wanted to know.)

Now Gentlemen listen carefully..

Again you have just been freely given the keys to the known universe in terms of finding happiness with a beautiful and traditional woman.

You want to learn what the most important thing about courting a Russian Woman is?

Well you just read it..

Being socially acceptable..  having self-respect and a decent appearance.. knowing how to be relaxed and confident in your own skin..  being modestly cultivated.. and knowing how to make a girl laugh and smile at whim..

These are all good and very important things..

But it’s most critical importance comes into play during the initial DATING PHASE of any Relationship.

Or in other words… it simply opens the door for you…

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART..

(Or shall I say the remaining 99% of any happy and married life spent together.)

Take a look at this news clip because it is especially noteworthy for a number of reasons.

It illustrates the all too common harsh realities of life that a young lady like this faces growing up in a Russian Village.  (And keep in mind that there are thousands of villages just like this one in the FSU.)

• No father or mother.
• Long Russian Winters.
• Lack of running water in her village which means that children need to fill their containers up at the local pump and then cart it back home on sleds.
• Lack of basic infrastructure.
• Poverty and Decay
• Environmental Pollution.

However this video also shows just how quickly this young lady has grown up and risen to the challenge not just for herself but for all those around her as well.   Pay attention to the absolute stoicism on her face as she manages to accomplish this.

To the outsider the character and strength demonstrated by this young Russian Woman may seem like a rare exception.

But I know better..

And it’s only because I have seen so many Russian Women who exhibit this type of fortitude and determination in the face of such odds.

And it’s been a real privilege to know them.

I wanted to include some nice photos that were taken by a few friends of mine.

As usual I hope you enjoy the slices of life that they show in this part of the world.

This remarkable video shows a Russian Woman’s Choir performing in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk.

It’s fantastic to see the traditional identities of these inspiring ladies just beaming through during their performance.

And it’s worth noting that the emotions I felt watching it completely reminded me of just how awed I was when I first arrived and started to experience this deep and powerful ocean of femininity for the first time.

If anything.. what you are about to see is a good microcosm for some of the brilliant facets of female grace, beauty and magnificence I’ve personally been touched with over here..

And it’s a greatness with which I can only attempt to convey.

There are conflicting reports going back and forth about President Putin divorcing his wife to be with a famous 24 years old gymnast from the former Soviet country of Uzbekistan.

Although I’m not surprised by this because this can be quite common here.. I am surprised that this story has hit the public the way it has.

President Putin who is 55 is reported to be in a serious relationship with Ms. Alina Kabaeva who is 31 years his junior.

If this happened in the US then the explosive scandal it would create would be beyond huge.  But here in the FSU it’s treated with celebrity fascination.

This is the kind of question Mrs Merton might ask:

“So, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, what do you see in a 24-year-old, sensationally beautiful gymnast with a penchant for posing semi-naked that you don’t see in your lovely, middle-aged, matronly wife Ludmilla?”

It is also the kind of question that hardly needs answering for the millions who have tuned in to the YouTube film of Alina Kabaeva performing a decidedly provocative gymnastic routine.

This sudden frenzied interest in a woman who, until yesterday, was frankly a rather obscure Russian athlete, comes after a Moscow newspaper reported that Mr Putin recently split with Ludmilla and is preparing to marry the young and very pretty Miss Kabaeva.

Mr Putin today appeared to relish being linked to a beautiful gymnast less than half his age as he gave a press conference alongside Italian leader Silvio Berlusconi - himself no stranger to allegations of womanising.

Denying the claims of a divorce and marriage plans, 55-year-old Mr Putin seemed to enjoy playing up the image of a ladies’ man.

“In other publications of the same type, the names of other successful, beautiful young women from Russia are mentioned,” he said. “I think it won’t be unexpected if I say that I like them all - just as I like all Russian women.”

He called women of his homeland “the most talented and beautiful” in the world - adding diplomatically: “If anyone can compete, it may be only Italian women.”

Despite his denials, some commentators wondered whether the rumoured link with the gymnast might explain why Mr Putin suddenly posed topless for the cameras on a Siberian fishing holiday last summer.

While his muscled and hairless torso were a particular hit among female and gay voters, perhaps he was simply trying to impress his new mistress.

There is added piquancy in the fact that, despite her youth, Miss Kabaeva has recently been made an MP.

The gymnast is one of a number of young and beautiful Russian dancers and athletes who, under Mr Putin’s patronage, have lately become deputies in the Duma - Russia’s lower parliament.

Known as Putinskie Krasotki - “Putin’s Babes” - they were brought in with the cynical but successful aim of “sexing up” his United Russia party.

The bloc took more than 60 per cent of the vote in the December elections.

One Russian spin-doctor boasted at the time of their arrival in the Duma: “We are now definitely ahead of all parties in terms of ladies with sex appeal among our MPs.

“These young women are full of energy and eagerness to become serious law-makers.”

That remains to be seen. After all, it would be like Gordon Brown packing the backbenches at Westminster with a confection of the pop group Girls Aloud, the triumphant British women’s cycling team and topless dancers from London nightclub Stringfellows.

To be fair to Miss Kabaeva - already promoted to deputy head of the Duma’s committee on youth affairs - she is more demure than her fellow Babes, one of whom has posed naked for Playboy.

Yes, Miss Kabaeva has taken off her clothes for a magazine, but poses tastefully wrapped in a fur rug. Her modesty is protected by lingerie in other shots. All the same, Ruth Kelly she ain’t.

But how did Mr Putin actually get to know Miss Kabaeva?

One of Russia’s most popular beauties, she is the reigning Olympic rhythmic gymnastic champion and global darling of the sport.

She is said to be blessed with “extreme flexibility” and practically unbeatable when performing “on the carpet” - to use a gymnastic term.

“I could not believe my eyes when I first saw her,” recalls her coach Irina Vine.

“The girl has the rare combination of two qualities crucial in rhythmic gymnastics - flexibility and agility.”

The sport is a combination of ballet, dance and gymnastics in which competitors manipulate ropes, balls, clubs, hoops and ribbons.

And Alina was very good. Aged only 15, she won the gold medal in the 1998 European Championships. The following year she secured the world title and was favourite to repeat the success at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Disaster struck, however, when she dropped her hoop and it rolled off the carpet. She went home with only a bronze and all of Russia wept with her.

It is said that this was when she first came to Mr Putin’s attention and made his acquaintance.

There was more embarrassment at the Goodwill Games in Brisbane the following year when, having won five medals, she tested positive for a banned diuretic.

She was stripped of her titles, though her coach said that it had been an honest mistake, caused by using an Australian food supplement.

Joy was unconfined when Alina won the All-Around rhythmic gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics. The sport had a new superstar and pin-up girl.

But a knee injury was dogging her career and, after one retirement and a comeback, she announced in February that her time on the carpet was at an end … Time to concentrate on politics and support for her President.

What then of the first First Lady? 50-year-old Ludmilla Putin’s talents lie in linguistics. She has a degree in Spanish, can speak French and has taught German at Leningrad State University in Mr Putin’s home city of St Petersburg.

She married him there in July 1983. At the time of the wedding, Miss Kabaeva, was only two months old.

Ludmilla followed her husband on his KGB postings and lived in East Germany for four years, where one of their two daughters, Maria and Katja now aged 23 and 21, were born.

But rumours about the state of the Putin marriage have been rife for some time in Moscow media circles.

The story that she and the President have already, in fact, divorced appeared in the Moscow tabloid Moscovski Korrespondent.

The newspaper claimed that the secret divorce came through in February and that Mr Putin would marry the gymnast-turned-MP in St Petersburg on June 15.

The article cited a source close to an event planning company saying the firm was competing for the right to host the wedding at an imperial palace on this date.

By that time, Mr Putin will have stepped down from the presidency and have been replaced by his hand-picked successor Dmitry Medvedev.

Mr Putin will become prime minister and chairman of the ruling party, United Russia.

No one in Russia or elsewhere believes that by leaving the office of president he will have relinquished any of his real power.

As the story of his divorce circulated around Moscow, it was claimed that Mr Putin had been seen having an intimate dinner with Kabaeva in a city centre restaurant earlier this year.

Last night, her father muddied the waters when he said he hadn’t heard if his daughter was marrying or not.

But he added: “If she marries such a man it will be great. He’s quite similar to me.”

Neither the Kremlin nor a spokesman for Miss Kabaeva were prepared to comment. Some even suggest the story has been deliberately leaked by the Kremlin to allow them to impose further restrictions on Russia’s mass media.

About the only interesting point I can emphasize is the fact that this young lady is from the capital city of Tashkent in Uzbekistan.  And although I haven’t had the chance to visit this country yet I have quite a few friends from this city.  And they tell me with a certain measure of pride in their voices..

That there are MANY beautiful and good girls in their city and that someday I should see this for myself.

Well I certainly appreciate their offer but I’m not in any real hurry.

Besides if this Tashkent girl has so utterly mesmerized Mr. Putin..

Then I’m sure there are many more like her with the same magical abilities.

And one of you Gentlemen should be the first to find this out.

One of the most important aspects of traveling anywhere is your ability to develop what I have repeatedly called your “social network”.

Now sightseeing on it’s own is always nice..

But the value of creating important contacts and friendships from another part of the world will always outlast the attention span given to any snapshots you may occasionally glance at.

Being able to meet and develop friendships anywhere has varying degrees of difficulties due to differences in culture, language, and surroundings.  And visiting Russia or the FSU certainly qualifies as being more on the “interesting” side of this challenge.

And this is why so many Agencies and Tour Groups are available out there.

And while these outfits serve the purpose of getting you familiarized with any country to various degrees there is still one very important point to consider.

The more “protected” you are the less ability you’ll have towards meeting “Real people”.

“Real People” who will interact with you without any agenda because they simply never imagined meeting you before.

If for example you have the ability to visit Russia for other purposes then to solely “find women” then I know that you are probably going to have an easier time meeting genuine people from all walks of life.

People who you will be just as curious about you as you are about them.

People who wish to share their lives and hospitality with you.

And of course..

People who can give you the all important introductions to various ladies that they or their friends personally know.

This is especially the case if they see you as a cultivated and traditional Gentleman..

If you do this then you are going to find that many of these people would be more then happy to play matchmaker for you.

More often then not they know of some “good girl” who is truly deserving of a “good husband”…  and you just may be the one to fit the bill.

In case you have a hard time believing this because it sounds too “simple” or straightforward then ponder this..

It really can be this clear and simple culturally speaking.

This is because these people (especially older ones) firmly understand both the stages and the limitations of life and they wouldn’t think twice about helping a deserving woman they are friendly with to find a good husband.

There is joy in finding love and there is also much joy in helping others to find it too.

And this is one of those wonderful principles that brings much happiness and meaning to one’s existence.  And these people understand this.

So remember what I said earlier about having another reason to visit Russia or the FSU in order to find more genuine experiences?

Well these reasons can provide an additional purpose for your visit and in doing so can make it that much easier for you to socialize with the right groups you wish to connect with.

Or in other words it’s the difference between introducing yourself in one of the following ways..

Method 1: “Hi my name is John, and I’m here to meet women and to find a wife!”

Or.

Method 2: “Hi my name is John and I’m here doing (business / volunteer) work for the “XYZ Foundation” back in New York….”

Are you starting to get all of this?

Good..

Because, the first introduction could easily raise suspicion or disbelief and repel people.

The second introduction shows that you have purpose and people are almost always magnetically attracted to this and wish to find out more.

Here’s another important point to this post..

Imagine if you visited a different city in YOUR OWN Country and introduced yourself in the examples I gave previously…

How would you expect to be received with either Method 1 or 2?

So the conclusion is clear.

The more “normalcy” you can introduce into the purpose of your visit..

The more “normal” and natural your dating experience will be..

So because of this I would highly recommend developing either a solid business or volunteering reason for traveling to this part of the world.  There are a million different business ideas floating around so I won’t get into it for now.  But I found a possible starting point for anyone who may wish to consider the volunteering route.

Now please don’t get me wrong..

Being a tourist is great and it’s something that we all do.

But if you want to be and be seen as someone with an admirable mission, purpose and direction then I would suggest you go for it and lead the way..

Because when you do..

I’m sure you will find a lovely and special someone who is willing to follow you.

Are British men on the run from Britain’s pint-downing, liberated women?

While in the realm of political rhetoric Britain and Russia seem to be renewing old rivalries, relations on the ground have never been better. The global market is finally coming to Moscow, and when it comes to husbands, Russian women have started buying British.

Sitting with Yorkshireman Jonathan and his newly-wedded Muscovite wife, Alexandra, I begin to understand why. Over borscht and fish and chips, she explains: “In Britain, all the blokes are gorgeous and the girls are ugly. Here all the women are beautiful and the men are useless.” Though I’m not sure it is quite that straightforward, there may be an element of truth in it.

The second world war’s removal of a generation of men meant that boys were treated like kings in the Soviet Union. Add to Russia’s demographic bias towards women its rampant alcoholism, high prison numbers and near million-man conscript army and you can understand why it isn’t exactly raining eligible bachelors on the streets of Moscow.

British men on the other hand, it would seem, are on the run from female liberation in the UK. All the men I speak to about their other halves said they found the quiet strength and femininity of the Russian women preferable to their pint-downing, man-eating British counterparts.

“Russian women are stronger,” says Glaswegian David. His Russian wife tells me this stems from perestroika times, when women went out to win the bread leaving their men at home, where they hit the booze. Whether the new economic stability will break them from such a spell is as yet uncertain. But in the meantime, foreign bachelors will have to cater for domestic demand, and it’s the British who seem to be plugging the gap.

Still, in a country not known for its transparency, foreign partners come wrapped in a ball of red tape. It’s a problem increasingly experienced from both sides. Despite Russia’s regulations being nothing in comparison with the USSR, many of the paranoid systems there constraining movement still persist. Meanwhile, Britain’s never-ending immigration panic is making it as inaccessible a fortress as the once iron-curtained Soviet Union.

The Russian people’s ambivalence towards foreigners offers another test. Brought up in a world almost devoid of other nationalities, marrying foreign is an unfamiliar phenomenon for most parents to deal with. It’s a local symptom of a much wider-felt insecurity afflicting the country as its own brand of liberalisation brings people much closer to products, ideas and others once kept out.

Russia’s austerity can also seem mystifying to lads brought up in the whirlwind of consumption that is modern Britain. Pretending to enjoy cabbage soup at the in-laws can be difficult for boys raised on pub grub and takeaways. And with no budget airlines connecting the two countries, and the cultural differences between them, choosing where to live and raise children can be a problem.

Interestingly, many of the couples in this situation are choosing to live in Russia rather than the UK. Karl, from Birmingham, to whom a half-Russian daughter was born this week, chose to live in Moscow due to the cost of living. “I got a nice flat in the centre of Moscow for under £25,000 – unthinkable in the UK. What’s more, it’s now worth over double that.”
