Well Comrades..
Today is the International Day of Workers, Communists, Socialists and all other assortment of American Liberals and Democrats.
Even as the Dems do their best to try to create a “Peoples Republic of America” the local Communist Party Guys haven’t had much to celebrate about for the last 15 years or so.. But they still try their best to get the old folks who were brought up in that system riled up and bussed around to the various statues of Lenin that are still up in town.
I got a chance to see all of this last year when I stumbled into a crowd of Red Flags with the old hammer sickle symbols on them. Good thing I wasn’t exactly carrying Old Glory with me since that probably would not have been welcomed at that particular moment.
The truth is most people really don’t pay too much attention to this day even though it’s still a national holiday. What they are really doing is saving up all of their partying energy for May 9th which is Russia’s National Day. This is a much bigger day and they also have much bigger fireworks too.
In anycase I also skipped out on today’s festivities and decided instead to post up something that we all could probably relate to so much more.. 😉

As a 45 year old pseudo-Old Guy, allow me a quick whine of ‘oh to be 20 years younger’.
Haven’t been in Russia during May day, but it was kind of a weird feeling to be standing outside the Kremlin with my McDonald’s french fries and Coke-a-Cola (along with, it seemed like, half of the 20-something Russians in Moscow).

On Saturday I was at the mall, and there was this beautiful Russian-looking girl walking around with a guy. As I had nothing else to do, I followed them for a bit about 100 feet back. It was funny to watch all the guys gawking at her, and all the fat jelous gfs smacking their bfs and getting bit**y.
She was quite unique among all the girls I saw that day. She was dressed very sexy, but it didn’t look slutty on her.
She had on short shorts, a very nice top, and a fur wrap for her shoulders.
I told my Ukranian friend about her, and she just said, “Stop gawking at girls like that. Just come here and meet some. Let those guys look at you like that.”
I sure plan to.

No matter what you think of each of the three girls, look at the eyes.
Rarely will you see a Russian girl who does not have beautiful eyes.
I just spent all of April “back in the USSR” and you notice it all the time, AND you can’t help staring all the time!
Also, re a few comments about Lenin statues and “hammer & sickles” – yes, they’re still everywhere. To me, a fascinating glimpse of history, and to most of the locals they’re just part of the landscape – always been there.

#2 is a killer 22 year old lady friend of mine who is incredibly beautiful in person and unfortunately this photo (from my camera phone in poor light) doesn’t do her justice. She is one of the funnest girls you can imagine to be around because of her laugh and her sense of humor which sadly I wasn’t able to capture here.

Shaun Alexander It’s interesting you say this about the eyes I’ve thought this too. Looking at all the photos so far, all the girls have big eyes (funny thing to say maybe) but there is something very attractive about them.
It’s true that you can’t help but look at these women.
Did you find that when you look at a Russian girl they will look back, but often without much emotion, not even a smile. They will just look in your direction. Still holding your gaze? Has anyone else noticed this?

Tom – you’re right.
Often they will look at you blankly, but if they really like the look of you they may break into a smile or even blush and look away.
Nothing should be read into the blank looks or lack of smiles, it’s just a different culture. A girl will not usually smile at someone she does not know, and Russians in general only smile for a specific reason, ie like the first stage of laughter.
Unlike us where a smile can be just a pleasantry toward someone whether you know them or not. You are just showing your friendliness and/or happiness/contentedness at that time.

Even my own (Russian) girlfriend, will stare blankly. If we are eating and I smile politely across the table, content to be with her, she will ask What I’m looking at?”.
Also I’ve found they can be quite funny with public displays of affection. Meeting at the airport after being apart for a while can be strange. She will maybe break into a smile, I can see she is happy and we’ll hug but Russian girls seem not to be big on kissing in pulic.
On other occasions, for example,when we’re walking around, we will hold hands etc but she does not like to kiss in public. Unless it is very private or discrete. But behind closed doors – Well that’s a different matter. But I guess that’s a story for another time. 🙂

Tom – Re the “public affection” observation -again, very typical and perfectly normal. You should not hesitate to steal a kiss during the private moments that come your way. If she likes you, she’ll love it.
GL – thanks, and yes, I had a great time. Met more relatives I’ve never met before (family reunion and wedding), and seeing Winter turn rapidly into Spring was just magic. Also got to experience a traditional Easter too – egg painting, family feasts and respectful visits to the cemetary. Different to back home where everyone seems to just give each other chocolate!

When you find yourself a lovely woman for your life as well you will most likely find yourself needing to “step it up” a notch in terms of your own behaviors and demonstrations of respect. sure, I got married when I was very young (19 yrs old) to my highschool sweetheart, I grew up in Talahasee, FLA. After my career got started and we both matured and figured out more about ourselves we decided it wasnt going to work and we got divorced, although we did have two daughters. My career went on in pretty mediocre fashion, i had a few girlfriends but nothing serious. I didnt get any offers after the ’99 season so I retired, and moved to Orlando with my two girls. I spent a lot of time with my kids, but after they hit thier teenage years they wanted a little more independence and I was sort of lonely. I had made enough money and saved wisely during my career that I didnt need a real job, and I’m just a hitting insttructor at a local high school. I dedcided to see if i could find a woman again – i got online in a few singles chat rooms and met a wonderful woman from Moscow. Certainly I was skeptical about who she was at first, but I finally got the guts to go and visit her and I havent thought twice abot it since. She lives in Orlando with me now, my girls and rest of the family love her, we are getting married in September

I know where I stand onthis. Afterall, I am very secure and happy in my relationship. However, a man with lesser nerve may begin to question himself and his relationship after reading some of the topics discussed on this site.
I would be interested to now your stance on some of the issues raised on this site and the views of others especially Axinia, who may be able to give some honest, unbias, female [Russian] input on these matters.
It is nice to hear about Reggiejefferson’s story. I think more of these relationship stories should be put forward.

After giving some consideration to these matters I guess this whole [great] blog is an indication as to how you feel about many of the issues raised there.

The problem with the http://www.agencyscams.com website is that the sites that he endorses as “reliable” don’t exactly contain the highest quality women. For example, on “A Volga Girl” they have the profile of a 41-year-old mother of 2 who’s only 5″5′ but weighs 211 lbs!! What reputable matchmaking agency would allow a woman like that on their site? And as for Elena’s Models: Elena is a total feminazi and so are the women on her site. I saw one profile of a 35-year-old woman who was divorced, but nevertheless insisted on a man with no ex-wives! And I saw another profile of a 34-year-old woman who was only 5″6′, but she insisted on a man who was at least 6’0″!
Many of the women on that site are looking for men no older than 30 or 35; they are seriously deluded if they think that there are a lot of guys that young who have the will and the means to travel halfway across the world to court them. Finally, I ran into the profile of a woman I knew personally; she lied about her religion in her ad! (She was Jewish but called herself Christian). So maybe it’s impossible to find a quality RW using ads.

Hero, I’ve noticed a huge change in the quality of the girls since 2000. Huge.
I suppose if a man has a gazillion years to sift through the web to find a few good possibilities; then go ahead. Knock yourself out.
Then of course listen to their gazillion demands and immediate harping over acceptable arrival times. God forbid, your vacation time conflicts with her zharish edict on serving yourself up to her.
They seem incapable of understanding the difference between arriving from N.A. and, say, Turkey on a train over the weekend. Why? You tell me.
Also, the Websters fundamental perceptions are that we are desperate. Desperate? Excuse me! Try choosy.
The Russian media has also done a number on foreign men who look for girls on the net.
Overall, I’d say that Bottom Feeders about sums up what’s increasingly showing up.
In 2000, Elenas models had almost no single mother’s. Now this probably describes the majority. The Russian ecomony is one of the world’s fastest growing. So, the locals become increasingly less economically motivated.
Don’t overlook GL’s comments that most girls feel a stigma to list on such sites. And the last time I checked web listings are only locally accepted in the West when it’s used to find the girl next door. Go figure.
The solution? Get on a plane and circulate.
Most men who use the web in their searches never see a Russian sunset and are only surfing a curiosity with little intent.
Which doesn’t help the credibility of those who are serious.
Translates to the quality locals scanning the locals men or settling for a little sharing or “sponsorship”.
There are also locally available cattle calls of herds of them showing up for a meet and greet. The Russian version of Speed Dating. As well as the local agencies.
But, excuse me, did you just see that sweet girl who just past by? Understand?
Six weeks at a time a good timeline of what’s needed to get a good feel for their true characters and all the usual in person relationship dynamics. Good luck to those working on one and two week vacations.
Give me a few days in person and I’ll show you what a few years on the Net can never do.
Hell, a few days? Try a few hours. So, now I’m supposed to be a wallflower?
I’m not infering being an overbearing foreigner. But just how many orders of whatever you’re ordering at that the cafe before you decide to go over and chat her up? Or in my case, sign language and pen and pad.

Going in person can save the energy over the ShortWait Websters. But it still doesn’t change who she is.
Gotta know how to test them. A little help from a few local men friends who can make her as either virginal or a ho, wouldn’t hurt either. Going to have to buy the locals a few drinks and ask them what they think about her, before the alcohol blood content gets too heavy. Anastasiaweb (Anastasia Int) is probably the biggest rip-off in the universe. They charge you to read emails, send emails, and they even charge you to watch the lady’s video. When 100 credits costs $399.00 and it takes 2 credits every time you read and send a email. I did their free sign up and set up a profile and I had hundreds of woman send me emails. As much as I would love to believe I’m this smooth with the ladies….erm…reality hits. I am probably an exception. I am 27 years old which is probably a little younger then most of the guys determined for something “better”. I am not exactly poor, but lets face it I’m not rich either. I work in security at the airport here in Colorado. I looked at that anti-scam site. I’ve run acrossed one of their scammers on the main page. lol She has a myspace profile now, but lets be honest here. She is so ‘desperate’ that is pretty obvious shes a scammer.

Yes, it’s amazing how far downhill those agency women have gone in just a few short years. In 2001-2002, I used an agency called “peoplehelpers.com” where I could buy contact info of stunning women for just $2 apiece. And those women proved that I was actually corresponding with them too. For example, one woman sent me a picture of her with a gift I sent her (don’t worry, it wasn’t an expensive gift).
I’m sorry to say that I wasted $30 on anastasiaweb recently. After reading 4 form letters from women, I finally wised up.
My next step is to sign up for Russian 101 next semester. Don’t know yet how I’ll manage the long visits to Russia, but love will find a way. 😉

Well I talk to several lovely ladies on myspace and at least two of them are professional translators, and my friend Tina told me that English is pretty popular in Russia right now and it shouldn’t be hard to find someone who speaks the language if I need something. I find that even online these wonderful ladies are friendly and helpful. The average American woman on myspace is shallow and rude.
I thought about talking to some of the ladies on Aweb, however I saw the cost and thats just too much money to just read and send messages. I would be broke if I were to be charged on myspace in the same way.
I’m thinking about taking a course and learning some words. These ladies are perfect motivation.

I’m thinking about coming next summer or possibly early far. Something has to give seeing as the woman in my area are absolutely terrible. I’ve even been told that I’m too nice. How can you be too nice? I do not understand these woman, and a lot of what GL says about them is spot on.
Recently I was getting to know a feminazi named Jules here in my home town. We chatted off and on and for a while I thought she might be different but I was seriously wrong. I had to listen about her “traumatic” past about how her brother use to call her fat and that she developed her eating disorder because of that. I had to listen to how she was sexually abused, and then latter she was in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend. She told me how she was still seeing her ex on the side and how he still had a GF and was using her for sex. I told her that she is better then that, and she agreed yet still seemed to like that animal. I was supportive and offered my friendship but all this girl did was push me away until one of her insensitive outbursts towards me ended the relationship. I’m tired of all this “blame the big bad males” feminazi crap. Its all about how bad we are, but these woman perpetuate their own self fulfilling prophesy by being with bad boys. She told me that I was “coming on a little too strong” by being nice to her. I was “coming on too strong” by offering to call her on her b-day and wish her happy birthday. Apparently commenting her picture on Myspace was also “coming on a little too strong” even though all I ever said was “You’re beautiful. I like your eyes”. It was ironic that some random guy she just met on myspace was ok in calling her “Damn girl your sexy”. Go figure. I think American girls love feeling sorry for themselves and constantly bitching about stuff.

Man, I really wish GL would come every day like he used to. I know that GL is busy, but my parents are being really ornery about me going to Siberia, and they are already starting to give me speeches about why I shouldn’t go, and they are trying to stop me from going.
The problem is that they have my passport, because they have all the passports, and I don’t know if they’re going to hand it over.
I am going to have a meeting with them in two days, and I’m going to try to get them to hand over my passport at that time so I can send it in for the visa, but I don’t know if they’ll hand it over.
When I asked them to hand it over today, they gave me evasive answers, but no passport.
I suppose my question here is does anyone here have any suggestions for getting my parents to hand me over my passport?

Ok I figured out what to do if my parents continue to be ornery and continue to not give me the passport.
I know that my parents want me to do work over the summer. Well, I’ll do it if they cooperate with me and don’t block me from going to siberia. But if they do block me from going to siberia, like they’re doing right now, and I can’t get the tourist visa in time because they won’t give me my passport, then I won’t do any work during the summer at all.
So either both of us can win or both of us can lose.
That is what I am going to say to them.

I can understand your parents reservation; perhaps for safety reasons but also they wanted you to work. I think you can explain to them that it is the detours in life that define us. Traveling especially can really broaden one’s perspective in life. I remember well my first trip to Ukraine. Changed me forever. It was awesome, memorable and well worth it.
Here’s an idea, work all summer save some money and take a semester break there, perhaps, you can do an exchange student deal and get some credits also!! I wish I could have thought of that when I was in school. Oh well.

I’m going to try Elena’s Models, however a problem with my credit card is delaying the process. My credit card called me in order to verify the purchase! My card is so secure that even I cannot use my identity / cash. lol
Well if she is 41 and wont except 42 that is pretty strange. I’m 26 (soon to be 27 in August) and I do not have a problem with a girl up to 35. Russian woman age well, and many of them do not show their age. Granted I’ll be shooting for the 18-26 range first, but I’m open to a little older, and so should they.

Manoah suggested you should maybe take a semester break to go to Russia. It depends on how much you value your education and how much you value being totally honest with your parents. But have you considered going during a semester. I studied at university in England and frequently took short European breaks away during semesters (and still got a 2:1 honours degree). For example 4 days to Amsterdam over a long weekend (only missing 1 day of school), sevral short trips to Prague (similar to previous), and Paris for a week and feigned sickness to tutors/lecturers etc. I know you will not want to go to Russia for just 2 or 3 days, but if you work extra hard before you go and when you get back, (I think the determination will drive you), maybe you could manage between 1 – 2weeks. For a first visit and a taster this may be long enough.
I guess the hard part is getting the passport off your parents. Perhaps you could let the talk of Russia subside for a while and suggest that you need the passport for a trip to Canada or somewhere else – Hey, I don’t know. Anyway could you not just take it without them knowing. I mean where there’s a will there’s a way.
Luke don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting you should lie to your parents or do something you are uncomfortable with. Or even skip classes and fall behind. But these ideas may help you think outside the box a little. Besides a trip to Russia will be an education in it’s self.
PS. If you do go be sure to tell someone your plans, just in case you run into difficulties and your parents don’t know where the hell you are.

It is not an insignificant factor that Russian girls can have some serious reservation about some older men. Many Russian men have not so good health and don’t “weather” so well. Which translates to “show up in person” and bypass the general Russian perceptions of life expectancy.

Why would she think that? I’ve gotten 20 letters in the past week, even though I haven’t sent out a single letter or expression of interest myself. And some of those ladies who wrote to me were pretty fine, too.
I agree that Elena has to get a little more savvy. This means that she has to stop allowing such bitchy profiles on her site. Not to mention that some of her “models” are just bow-wow butt-ugly. Precisely my point, my Russian seeking friend. When a Russian girl sends you a letter or an expression of interest “for free” and you don’t respond, how much money is she making?

Not Moscow. Some also include St. Peterburg. But that depends on how much you’re willing to spend to be in the arms of cultural nirvana. The rest of the world’s largest country is your oyster.
You’ll either have to have a reliable car and watch like a hawk that it isn’t slolen, or take a train ride, another adventure in Russian life, and get off wherever your heart leads you. You’ll need to know how to guard against a lot of “get the stupid foreigner” in order to make this work for you and a handheld translator or a reasonable knowledge of Russian. If you can afford to hire a travelling interpretor then this can eliminate a lot of day-to-day problems. But it’ll cost in extra accomodations.
Or begin by giving GL an email and contact him for a stay in his part of heaven, where he can guide you through the mire of possible problems. Go to the Banned Awards link for a contact for this.
Outside of that, I’d recommend choosing a small to mid-sized city or town. Not too small to cause early dating exhaustion. And not too large to make your green butt a target for men or girls looking to you for some involunary income.

Much appreciate the tips. Very useful, I’m sure to me as well as others reading. I agree with much of what you say. You, Natalia, and GL possess a keen insight into human psychology.
I had a chance at love once, but regrettably didn’t recognize it and passed it up.

This statement is so true. I’ve learned by now to listen to the gut instinct. Either pulls you in or gives an unsettling feeling about the situation.

I would recommend a traveling companion would help you with figuring out directions, heading, etc. More fun to do this in pair when dealing with being in a foreign country. Could also save on costs for apartments. Also, I was advised to not make friends when on trains, especially be weary of exchanging food and drinks.
If you’ll be there in summer, Sochi is nice place to visit.

That girl at work has a live in boyfriend but she is bound and determined to make me admit that I like her or something. WTF? I walked by her at work and she told me, “Just admit it you have the hots for me”. I laughed at her, and walked away. What is the point? Why is she so hellbent on making me try to like her? Geeesh. Yeah she does some things are could be considered Harassment, however being a guy and all you know how far that law suit would go in feminazi court.

Carry some sugar Hershey kisses. Next time she goes there, and the pace at work suits, then slow move towards her, slow, lean in as if you want a nibble on her neck, pull out a kiss while you’re mouth almost touches her neck. Pop the sugar without announcing it. Then while obviously sucking on the kiss and enjoying it with a sweet moan, pull back with an mmmmm. Put a kiss in her hand. Smile. Say like your soul is doing the perfectly timed and paused speaking, “Nothing in the world, nothing, is sweeter than a Russian kiss. Whenever I suck on one, damm, the taste drives me crazy.”

The lady in the last picture is like so beautiful and amazing i would marry her no questions asked if that was possible. Well it certainly doesn’t hurt to dream about these girls. They are are so well dressed and seem to have some class and money. I am just a working class man in the US. I have a good job but i guess it’s going to be very difficult for me to visit Russia. Anyway she is the most beautiful woman i have ever laid eyes on and she is breathtaking.

The first woman reminds me of an Angel, or some sort of faery princess.
I adore the radiance of the 2nd woman ~ she seems like she would make a wonderful friend somehow.. very warm and something demure.

I have a fiance who lives in Khabarovsk and I visit as often as I can. We have been together for almost five years now. What part of Siberia do you live in rw_man? Have you ever been to Khabarovsk? Last time I was there was for Victory Day in May 2005. I am going to visit here again soon to see my fiance Zhenia. I think the women there are very graceful and gorgeous and they definitly know how to dress.

4 years ago I never would have looked at this site. Never gave a thought about Russia, much less its women, in fact I had no interest whatsoever. Anyway was buggering around online oneday, got linked to a russian site and of course there were all the ads from these women. One caught my eye so I decided to look further. Long story short, we got to chatting and after a few months she started coming on to me. Now I’m no oil painting but then again, no mirror has cracked….yet but no women ever blatantly took the first step with me, certainly not a beauty like my now girlfriend. Obviously a 12 year age gap and all this interest had me wondering. Thought she was looking for a passport or cash and I am by no means rich, but pretty comfortable none the less. I searched long and hard for problems and constantly tested her (2 years) but came up dry everytime. Surprise when I found out she didn’t want to leave Russia. Anyway the usual went down with the meetings and whatnot….Well, we’re 3 years in now and I aint looking back. With any luck I’ll be relocated in St Petersburg in the next few months. So if it can happen to me it can happen to anyone…..yep….there’s a supermodel waiting just for you 🙂

Canuck, I have been dating a woman for 3 years from Ukraine been there 6 times and everything you describe to me about a woman who loves me she has done. She has tested me many times to see if I am faithful. I talk to her on the phone every day. Now we are planning to get married. Wish me luck

All three of these ladies are stunning (for want of a better word) but one thing I notice about the girls pictured on this site is that so many of them have beautiful long hair. A lot of people I know seem to think very long hair isn’t suitable for a girl over the age of about 15/16, and certainly not after a woman reaches 30. And then you read fashion advice that says long hair “drags down a woman’s features” or some such. Well, I think this idea is rubbish and these ladies prove it. Not that the second one doesn’t look just as good with her shorter style 🙂

I’m with you all the way regarding the long hair being only for little girls. I think it’s a lot of rubbish, too.
In all of my years taking photos, I have found many of the most striking women to have hair past their shoulders. In fact, it has been my feeling that many women who start shortening their hair as the years go by are trying to keep a more youthful appearance by doing so.
In reality however, what I have heard from most women over 30 is that shorter hair is simply easier to care for. I can sure understand that aspect because my daughter loves her long hair but it is daddy who is always trying to get a brush through it at bed time and I’m totally frustrated by the hassle.

It definitely is easier to care for, particularly when you have children. Still, I don’t think people should laugh at long hair over a certain age.
